Shinae Kim is interested in how form and information cause each other. In her recent work, she understands form as a temporary event generated by information and observes it in a it in a multidimensional spatial context. She has been developed through drawing and spatial installation, starting from the idea that lines are not drawn, but rather events that occur in the relationship between planes, such as the corner between the walls. She graduated from Hongik University with a BFA in Painting and received her Diplom and Meisterschuler from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany under Prof. Olaf Nicolai.

Her major works have been shown in Romantic storage (SeMA Storage, Seoul, 2022), Slicing space (Seetangraum, Jeju, 2022), NANJI ACCESS with PACK: Mbps (SeMA, Seoul, Korea), Nothing Makes Itself (ARKO Art Center, Seoul, 2021), Not Just Tiny But Abstract (OCI Museum of Art, Seoul, 2019), Spiele mit der Ewigkeit (Grimmuseum, Berlin, 2018) and upsidesidedown (Project Space Sarubia, Seoul, 2015). She was selected as a resident artist of the 18th Goyang Residency, MMCA(National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea) in 2022, and 17th Nanji Residency, SeMA(Seoul museum of art) in 2023.
