This exhibition centers around the keyword ‘relationality’. It aims to present works by three artists who contemplate relationships: the relationship between the artist and the screen, the relationship between the lived environment and the artist, and how a single life during its lifespan relates to other lives.
Henri Bergson's 'Matière et mémoire' proposes criteria for distinguishing between matter and life. Matter simply repeats the present without past or future, whereas life persists not in the repetition of the present but in a continuity that binds past, present, and future together. Persistence involves memory. To have memory means connecting the past with the present and future. Memory is not mere repetition of the past but condenses it.
To condense means not to follow the inevitability of matter but to express freedom. Condensation involves memory, and having memory means being free. Life preserves the past in the present through memory, encountering matter that repeats only the present.
